Kensington Metropark
Four and a half thousand acres around Kent Lake, with an 8.5 mile paved trail looping the water and canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for rent near Maple Beach. A spur runs north from the loop back toward Milford.

Flatwater and gentle river along the Huron, with boat launches and fishing access. The stretch down to the Hubbell Dam can be paddled in both directions.

Getting here
- Milford is in western Oakland County, roughly three quarters of an hour from Detroit and about half an hour from Ann Arbor.
- Kensington Metropark and Proud Lake are both minutes away by car.
- Once you are here the town is walkable, and the loft is in the middle of it, so the car can stay parked.
Stay in the middle of it
